GAA CLUB NOTES
Last Wednesday, the U-19’s hosted Tuam Stars at Corofin pitch for Round 3 of the Sweeney Oil U19 ‘A’ North League. It was a tough day at the office for the U-19’s but they gave a spirited display nonetheless. Final score Corofin 1-07 Tuam Stars 3-13.

On Sunday, the Intermediates are away to Headford for Round 5 of Division 3A and throw-in at Headford pitch will be at 1:00pm.

On Sunday the Galway Senior team beat their old foes, Mayo, in Pearse Stadium to win their third successive Connacht Championship Final! It was a tight affair, with the Galway team showing tremendous character to overcome a very strong Mayo team. Dylan McHugh, Liam Silke and Kieran Molloy started the game, while Jack McCabe was named on the bench. The win puts Galway into Group 1 with Derry, Westmeath and the losers of Donegal/Armagh.

LGFA CLUB NOTES
On Friday evening, the Junior team played Annaghdown at Corofin pitch for Round 5 of Division 4. The girls were up against a very strong and organised Annaghdown team. Despite a determined attitude from the girls, the game went away from them with the final score Corofin 1-06 Annaghdown 3-14, Corofin goal from Hannah Hession.

On Saturday evening the Senior team were away to Caltra Cuans for Round 5 of Division 1. A poor 15 minute spell in the first half saw Caltra score 3 quick goals, however, while they were down by 3-7 to 0-3, the girls put in a determined performance in the second half. A great team goal finished by Ella Zwyczyk and a couple of great points by Emily O'Connor cut the lead. Unfortunately, an untimely deflected goal extended the Caltra lead again. The Corofin girls did not give in and played to the end. Such was the quality of their play that all the Corofin scores came from play. Final scoreline Corofin 1-11 Caltra 4-09.

The Boys U-12s were delighted to receive an invitation to the Kilmacud Crokes Festival of Football on April 28th in Belfield, UCD. We fielded two teams who performed exceptionally well against teams from Kildare, Dublin, Roscommon, Donegal and Meath. A fantastic day enjoyed by players, coaches and supporters.

Our Under 7/8 girls had an amazing start to the season with their 1st blitz against Annaghdown yesterday! It was a fantastic display of skill and teamwork from our young stars. Well done to all the players, coaches & supporters for a great day of Gaelic football!

Club Player Orla Newell played for the Galway U-14’s at the weekend as they beat Carlow, Kerry and Tyrone to top their group. They play Waterford this weekend in the All-Ireland Quarter Final. Ellie Harty O’Brien is also part of this panel but unfortunately was injured for these games at the weekend. We wish her a speedy recovery.
