The Club was affiliated to the GAA in 1925 and incorporates the two half-parishes of Corofin & Belclare.
The official club colours are Saffron and Green.

Club Notes 31 October

Well done to our intermediates who defeated Naomh Anna, Leitir Móir by 6-9 to 2-16 in the league division 3 in Corofin on Saturday evening. The Corofin goals were scored by Ronan Burke (2), Oisín Mannion, Cathal Newell, Justin Burke and Graham Murphy. As a result Corofin maintain their division 3 status for next year while Naomh Anna are relegated to division 4.

Following Castlebar Mitchell’s victory in the Mayo county final on Saturday, they will play Tourlestrane of Sligo in the Connacht quarter final next Saturday. Corofin await the winners of this tie, with the semi final scheduled for Sunday 13 November.

The final under 10 training session of the year is on Saturday at 9.50 am in Belclare. Cormac, John, Martin and Ralph would like to thank all the kids for taking part. Once again they were a pleasure to work with and all parents should be really proud of them. A big ‘thank you’ also to the parents who brought them to all the training/matches in various pitches. Without your commitment we wouldn't be able to field teams. We are already looking forward to seeing you all early next year.

We had a great night in the Árd Rí Hotel Tuam last Friday for our Fashion Show. Many thanks to our sponsors, exhibitors, boutiques, shops, Catwalk Modeling Agency, organising committee, Club models and especially all who attended and supported us on the night.

The club offers it’s sympathy to the Mannion family Gort, and to Cyril and Gabriel Mannion on the death of Gerry Mannion, Gort and to the Glavin and Spelman families, Kilcurriff and to the extended McHugh family, Ballintubber on the death of Mary Jo Monaghan, Kilcurriff. May they rest in peace.

Lotto numbers drawn were 1, 4, 16, 31. There was no jackpot winner and one match 3, John Fahey. Seller's prize went to Patricia Langan. Next week's jackpot is €3,350 and draw in Club office.

Club Notes 24 October

Sunday 23 October proved to be a great day for Corofin GAA Club. We thank our loyal supporters who attended our Breakfast Morning and who then gave superb support to this wonderful group of players who brought the County Cup back to the parish for the fourth time in a row and for the 18th time in all. The Club now moves into 2nd place in the Galway senior football championship roll of honour, behind Tuam Stars. Congratulations and well done to the team and management. We congratulate especially Kieran Fitzgerald on winning his 11th county title.
The final score in the game was Corofin 0-16 to Salthill/Knocknacarrow 0-11.
The team now progresses to the Connacht GAA senior football championship 2016. Their next game is likely to be on Sunday 13 November.

The Corofin under 6 team had an end of season medal presentation on Saturday morning in Belclare. We offer a sincere thanks to all the coaches, the parents and especially our young footballers for their input throughout the season.

Club Notes 17 October

We send our very best wishes to the senior team taking on Salthill-Knocknacarra in the county final in Pearse Stadium at 3.30 on Sunday. We hope the team will get plenty support from the whole community.

On the morning of the County Final the Club invites everyone to come along to a Pre-Match Breakfast, in Raftery's pub from 9.30 am to 12.00 noon. Tickets at €10 for adults and €5 for under 14s are available in local shops, or from any GAA committee member. Come along for your "Full Irish”, meet old friends and to chat about the big game. Your support is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to seeing you there.

The senior league (Division 1) game against Milltown scheduled for Saturday evening was postponed.

Our intermediates defeated Barna in the League (Division 3) by 1-15 to 1-7 on Saturday evening.

Our under 12 boys had a great win in the Division 1A league final played in Corofin on Sunday morning. A point down at half time, the boys moved the ball better in the second half to win 0-9 to 0-5 points. A great game was played by both teams given the wet conditions. Congratulations to the team and mentors. A cavalcade to celebrate the win will tour the parish on Wednesday evening.

Club Notes 10 October

Well done to our seniors on an excellent 3-13 to 1-11 win over Mountbellew / Moylough in the county semi-final. The Corofin goals, all in the second half, came from Gary Sice, Ian Burke and Jason Leonard. Thanks to all who supported the team on Sunday. Congrats to the team and their mentors on reaching another county final. We are scheduled to play Salthill-Knocknacarra in the county final on Sunday 23 October following their win over Cortoon Shamrocks.
The senior team returns to action on Saturday evening with a Division 1 League game against Milltown in Corofin. The time is yet to be confirmed.

Our intermediate team are scheduled to play Barna in a Division 3 League game also on Saturday evening in Corofin.

Hard luck to our minors who lost out to Caherlistrane in the minor A North Board championship on a score line of Corofin 1-5 to Caherlistrane 1-7.

We had a good start to the day on Sunday when our U15s won the county league with a comprehensive victory over St Gabriels’, Kilconnell in the league final. This victory followed an unbeaten run in league. Well done to the team and all involved.
We send massive congratulations to every player involved in the U15 panel. It was a great performance again Sunday to finish unbeaten in the league.

Club Notes 3 October


We play Mountbellew-Moylough in the semi-final of the senior championship in Tuam Stadium at 4.15 pm on Sunday evening. The game is preceded at 2.30 by the other semi-final clash of Salthill-Knocknacarra and Cortoon Shamrocks.

Our intermediate team lost out to St Brendan's by 1-11 to 1-12 in the final intermediate relegation playoff game in Tuam Stadium on Saturday evening.

We play Caherlistrane in the minor A North Board championship at 8.00 pm in Corofin this Wednesday evening.

Our under 10 / 9 team won the shield in the Pa Jordan tournament played in Monivea on Saturday morning. Well done to the all the team and management.

Our under 7 team finished their training season on Saturday in Belclare. We express a big thanks to all the trainers and parents who helped out throughout the season.

Well done to Sylane hurlers who won the minor C hurling championship, defeating Mountbellew-Moylough by 1-10 to 0-10 in Carnmore on Sunday afternoon.
