The Club was affiliated to the GAA in 1925 and incorporates the two half-parishes of Corofin & Belclare.
The official club colours are Saffron and Green.

Club Notes 26 September

CLUB NOTES:
Our seniors had a good win in the league division 1 defeating Killannin by 3-12 to 1-11. The Corofin goals were scored by Jason Leonard, Martin Farragher and Kieran Molloy.
Following the final two games in the senior championship quarter final in which Mountbellew-Moylough defeated Milltown and Salthill-Knocknacarrowdefeated Caherlistrane, the draw for the semi final resulted in Corofin playing Mountbellew-Moylough and Cortoon-Shamrocks playing Salthill-Knocknacarra. Games are fixed for September 9th.

Our intermediates play St. Brendan’s in the relegation play off in Tuam Stadium on Saturday. Time to be confirmed.

Well done to our Under 15s who won their last group game playing Monivea-Abbey on Sunday. This was a total panel performance where every player displaying excellent skill levels and support play in atrocious conditions.

Our under 13s traveled to Killarney at the weekend to play in the Colm Cooper invitational tournament.. They had wins over Bishopstown (Cork), Colmcilles (Meath) and Ballyholland Harps (Down) to emerged winners of their group. They defeated Castlebar by 2-5 to 2-1 in the semi final. However, they lost out to a much stronger Skerries Harps team by 3-2 to1-0 in the final. Hard luck lads but well done on great displays in the competition. It was a great achievement to get so far in the competition. Well done also to all the management team and thanks for taking such great care of the lads over the weekend.

We offer our sympathy to the Lundy family Ardskeabeg on the death of Evelyn Lundy (née Creavin), Glinsk, Castlerea, Galway, mother of Mick and grandmother of Micheál.

Club Notes 19 September

CLUB NOTES:

Our seniors return to action in the league, division 1 when they play Killannin in the Community Pitch, Killannin at 5.00 pm on Saturday.

Our senior 7-a-side panel travelled to Dublin at the weekend to play in the Kilmacud Crokes All-Ireland Tournament. The team had three games, loosing to Naomh Eoin CLG (Belfast) by 2-6 to 2-7, defeating Clann na nGael (Roscommon) by 2-12 to 3-8 and loosing out to Leixlip (Kildare) by 4-6 to 5-7 in the final group game. Leixlip qualified for quarter-finals from the group. Well done to all involved.

Under 15s defeated Caherlistrane in the league to make it 4 wins out of 4. We play Monivea Abbey at 1.30 pm on Sunday 25th in Monivea in the last league match.

Under 13s travel to Killarney on Saturday to play in the Colm Cooper invitational. Good luck lads.

Under 12s (team 1) defeated Caherlistrane on Sunday in the league to book their place in the league final. The team played very well in the first half and went in leading at the break. They held onto that lead to win by a couple of points against a strong Caherlistrane team, who we will meet in the final of the league in a few weeks.
The under 12 (team 2) playing some great football, and some fine performances were put in by the team. However, the Caherlistrane team were stronger in the last 10 minutes, which saw them running to win by a couple of points.

Under 10s would like to thank both Tuam Stars and Annaghdown for the invites to their tournament over the last two weeks. It’s back to training next Saturday in Belclare at 10.00 am.

Under 8, 7 and 6 continue their training on Saturday at 10.00 am in Belclare.

Well done to our Ladies Minors who won the County Final on Saturday.

The Club offers its sympathy to Marion Carroll, Myles Park, on the death of her nephew, Peter Heffernan, Leeds; to Frances Higgins, Bullaun, on the death of her aunt, Delia Flynn (nee Keavneney), Williamstown; to John, Josie and Gerry Conneely on the death of their aunt, Sr Christine Conneely, New Jersey. May they rest in peace.

Club Notes 12 September

CLUB NOTES:

Well done to our seniors who had an excellent win over Tuam Stars in the quarter-final of the Senior Football Championship played in Tuam Stadium on Sunday evening. Despite playing against a strong wind in the first half, Corofin trailed by one point on a scoreline of 1-3 to 7 points with the goal coming from Gary Sice. Corofin dominated the second half and Liam Silke netted from the penalty spot with a well-taken goal to leave the final score Corofin 2-10 to Tuam Stars 0-9.

Our intermediate team will play St Brendan’s in the intermediate football relegation play off following St. Brendan’s loss to Ballinasloe on Saturday.

Our under 15s continued their good run in the league with a fantastic win over Glenamaddy-Glinsk on Sunday by 4-13 to 1-7. The team’s next game is against Caherlistrane in Corofin on Sunday at 1.30 pm.

The under 12 teams both had victories over Mountbellew-Moylough in the league, Group 1 and Group 3, on Sunday. The teams’ next games are against Caherlistrane on Sunday in Caherlistrane, with team 1 playing at 11.00 and team 2 at 12.00.

Under 9 training has finished on Mondays for 2016. However, Saturday training will continue until the weather beats us!

The Club sends it’s best wishes to our former manager, Stephen Rochford, as he manages Mayo who take on Dublin in the All-Ireland football final on Sunday.
Best wishes also to the Galway minors playing Kerry in the minor decider.

The Club offers its sympathy to the family and friends of Noreen Egan, Rusheens, who died during the week. May she rest in peace.

Club Notes 5 September

CLUB NOTES:

Best of luck to our seniors who take on Tuam Stars in the quarter-final of the Senior Football Championship in Tuam Stadium at 5.15 pm on Sunday. We need all possible support for the team in this game. The game is preceded by the clash of Mountbellew-Moylough and Milltown at 3.30 pm.

Our other three adult teams were in action at the weekend but unfortunately all suffered defeat.
In the intermediate football relegation game we lost out to Clifden by 1-10 to 2-11. We now await the losers of St Brendan's and Ballinasloe, who play in Tuam Stadium next Saturday.
In the Junior Championship (North), we were defeated by Mountbellew-Moylough on a scoreline of Corofin 1-6 to Mountbellew-Moylough 1-17.
Our second junior team (and the Club’s 4th adult team) suffered a comprehensive defeat at the hands of Glenamaddy in the Junior C Championship (North). Hard luck to all three teams.
The intermediates play Glenamaddy, in Glenamaddy, in the league (Division 3) at 3.00 pm on Saturday.
We congratulate Daithí Burke on his selection on the Sunday Game hurling team of the year.

Congrats to our under 15s who had a second win in the league (division 1A) defeating St Gabriel's 4-13 to 4-8. Their next game is against Glenamaddy-Glinsk at 1.30 pm in Glenamaddy on Sunday.

In the under 12 football league (Group 1) we drew with Monivea-Abbey on a scoreline of Corofin 2-9 to Monivea-Abbey 3-6. The team’s next game is against Mountbellew-Moylough at 11.00 am on Sunday in Corofin.
The under 12s (team 2) also play Mountbellew-Moylough in the league (Group 3) at 12.00 am in Corofin on Sunday.

We had a very successful Kevin Killeen, under 10 tournament in Belclare on Saturday. Three teams finished on equal points in the cup competition, namely Annaghdown, Tuam Stars and Corofin. Annaghdown were declared winners as they had the better scoring record. Corofin won the plate competition. Thanks also to Dunmore, Monivea-Abbey and Caherlistrane who played in the competition. Well done to all the children who took part in the tournament. You did us all proud. A big thank you to all the parents who helped to serve refreshments and made sure everyone was looked after and all the parents that stayed to support the teams. Thanks to the referees Brian Raftery, Conor Cunningham, Dylan Canney, Dylan McHugh, Martin Farragher and the senior referee Aidan Donnellan. Finally sincere thanks to the Killeen Family for sponsoring the cup and shield.

The Declan Kerins under 10 tournament takes place in Tuam on Saturday. Players are to meet in Tuam Stars pitch at 9.15. Remember that Gumsheilds are essential.
