The Club was affiliated to the GAA in 1925 and incorporates the two half-parishes of Corofin & Belclare.
The official club colours are Saffron and Green.

Club Notes 27 October

MEN'S NOTES:
Corofin GAA Club’s “Last Pint Auction” will take place in Raftery's Pub on Friday night next 31 October at 9.30 pm. The auction is being held to raise funds for the club as our seniors begin their bid for a Connacht Title. There will be auction items of interest to all including beauty, hardware, sports, agriculture, food, motor, clothing etc. Please come along and support.

Seniors completed their league campaign and have qualified for the final, following their 2-12 to 2-10 victory over Killererin, played in Corofin last Thursday.

Seniors are scheduled to play Aughawillan (Leitrim) in the Connacht Club semi-final on Sunday 9 November at 2.00 pm (venue to be confirmed). Aughawillan defeated Tubbercurry by 2-12 to 0-13 on Sunday in the quarter-final.

The Prediction Quiz leaderboard after 18 questions, has been updated. The top scorer in the 2014 Galway Senior Football Championship is Jason Lyons, Barna, which was not predicted by anybody. Derek Ryder maintains his lead with two events remaining. Full details can be found on the club website.

Congrats to Sylane Ladies on winning the Connacht Junior B Camogie Final defeating Na Brideoga, Tooreen, County Mayo, in Corofin on Saturday.

We had no winner of the Lotto Jackpot. The numbers drawn were 2, 7, 10 and 31. The two match 3s were Patsy Conway and Brian Silke. Sellers’ prize went to Eileen Ryan. Next week's Jackpot is €13,850 and the draw is in the Palm Tree.

Club Notes 20 October

MEN'S NOTES:
Congratulations to our seniors on a deserved win in the county senior championship final on Sunday, defeating St Michael's by 5-12 to 0-9 to claim the club’s 16th title. Best of luck to the team and mentors in the rest of the campaign.
Sincere thanks to all who supported the team and also to those who had the ‘Big Breakfast” in Rafterys on Sunday morning.

Congratulations also to Mountbellew – Moylough, our conquerors in the north board final, on winning the county minor title for the first time since 1968.

We had no winner of the lotto jackpot and two match 3s – Stephen Hession and Frank Morris. The numbers drawn were 4, 7, 9, 29. The sellers’ prize went to Pat Curley. Draw for a jackpot of €13,700 is in Rafterys next week.

The club sends it sympathies to Marie Fahey (Ballintubber) and her family, on the death of her father, John O’Connell, Kilmurray McMahon, Co Clare. May he rest in peace.

LADIES FOOTBALL:
This is the final reminder about the Ladies Club “End of Year Monster Halloween Ball”, which will have loads of prizes, raffles, fun and maybe a few scary Witches and Goblins. It takes place on Friday 24 October in Rafterty’s Corofin, from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm. Everyone is welcome but be in costume! Congrats to the senior lads on their win in the county final.

Club Notes 13 October

MENS NOTES:
Our seniors defend their county senior championship title on Sunday, 19 October in Tuam Stadium. The game versus St Michael's commences at 4.00 pm with referee James Molloy. Best wishes and good luck to the team and all involved. As ever, your support is much appreciated.

Have you got your tickets for “Up for the Breakfast” yet? Enjoy your pre-county final breakfast in Rafterys next Sunday morning. Come along anytime between 9.30 and 12 noon. Tickets are selling fast for this pre-county final get together. Call 087 2594964 or any committee member for tickets.

Our intermediates travelled to Inis Mór last Saturday but lost to Oileáin Árainn by 2-16 to 2-14 in the league division 3.

Thanks to our senior players Ciarán Mc Grath, Michael Farragher and Micheál Lundy for presenting the under 6s with their medals after their blitz on last Saturday morning.

We had no winner of the jackpot and no match 3s. The numbers drawn were 3, 5, 19, 25. The sellers’ prize went to Pat Curley. Draw for a jackpot of €13,550 is in Canavans next week.

We express our sympathies to the family of Tommy Goggins, Caheravoley, Cummer, who died on Sunday. May he rest in peace.

LADIES FOOTBALL:

Reminder – Corofin Ladies club is holding an end of Year monster Halloween Ball, with loads of prizes, raffles, fun and maybe a few scary Witches and Goblins on Friday 24 October in Rafterty’s Corofin, from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm. Everyone is welcome but be in costume! Regular updates are posted on the Ladies Facebook page, so check it out. It’s rumoured that Michael Jackson will make it there!

Club Notes 6 October

MEN'S NOTES:
Our seniors continued their good performance in the league with a 0-19 to 1-9 win over Caherlistrane played in Caherlistrane on Saturday evening.
Intermediates are scheduled to play Oileáin Árainn in Inis Mór next Saturday at 1.00 pm.
Under 15s won their 4th league match last Sunday defeating Tuam Stars in Belclare.
We play Monivea-Abbey in the final league match on Sunday morning in Belclare at 12.00.
35 of our Under 8s travelled to Aodh Ruadh club in Ballyshannon last Saturday to play in their club blitz. The boys played against teams from Donegal and Fermanagh. The games were followed by lunch and disco in the clubhouse. An enjoyable day was had by all. Thanks to Ciarán Lynch and coaches for organising and supervising on the day. Thanks also to parents who travelled and helped. Following this successful trip we have a game versus Oranmore/Maree on Saturday next, 11 October in Belclare. Players are to assemble at 10.00 am.
Under 6s have their blitz also this Saturday in Belclare at 10.00 am.
"Up for the Match" – how about "Up for the Breakfast"? Corofin GAA club are hosting a breakfast morning – pre county final – on Sunday 19 October from 9.00 am to 12 midday, in Raftery's Bar. Come along for some lively banter, match predictions and a bit of craic, while you enjoy your cooked breakfast. The cost for adults is €10 and children €5. Tickets will be available from local shops and committee members. We wish to sincerely thank Frank Collins for hosting and sponsoring this novel event.

LADIES FOOTBALL:
U8s training continues every Tuesday at 6.15 in Belclare.

Well done to the girls who took part in the annual U10 County Football Blitz which took place last Saturday in the Annaghdown GAA grounds. It was a great performance by the girls. They did themselves, their parents and the club proud. A big thanks to all the parents who helped out on the day. Training has finished for the season. Ken and the management team send their thanks for your support and hope to see you all next season.

Well done to the Corofin girls who played for Galway in an under 11 blitz. They all played extremely well and did themselves, their parents, their club and their County proud.

U12 training takes place on Thursday in Belclare at 6.15, in preparation for the final versus Killanin at the weekend.

Well done to the minor girls who had a historic victory for the club in winning the division A, Mairéad Meehan Shield, final which was held in Caltra on Sunday. We defeated Caltra in the final. Both teams put up a brilliant display of fast, free flowing football. Well done also to their parents, supporters and the management team.

Hard luck to the senior ladies who lost the championship replay to Kilkerrin Clonberne by 1-3 to 0-11. The game was played under lights in Glenamaddy last Friday Night.
