The Club was affiliated to the GAA in 1925 and incorporates the two half-parishes of Corofin & Belclare.
The official club colours are Saffron and Green.

Club Notes 26 March


The Corofin GAA Club Bord na nÓg Easter Skills Camp takes place in Belclare pitch from Tuesday 3rd to Thursday 5th of April (inclusive).
Join top coaches, senior players Kieran Molloy, Brian Raftery, Dylan McHugh, Ciaran Brady and other special coaches for three days of fun games, skills practice, skill challenges and mini leagues.

Our juniors play Annaghdown in division 5 (North) at 6.45 pm in Corofin on Friday evening.
We play Clifden in a division 4 league game at 6.00 pm in Corofin on Saturday evening.
Our seniors play their first game in the division 1 league against An Cheathrú Rua, in Páirc an Chathánaigh, An Cheathrú Rua, on Saturday 7 April.

Galway footballers play Dublin in the league final on Sunday in Croke Park. They defeated Kildare in their final league game and finished top of the league undefeated.
We played two games in the under 14 league on Tuesday. We played Caherlistrane in division 1 North and Slathill-Knocknacarra in division 4.

We drew Claregalway in the minor A league, North, played on Sunday in Knockdoemore on a scoreline of Corofin 3-7 to Claregalway 1-13. We next play Athenry at 6.45 pm in Corofin this Wednesday evening.

U12 training is starting back on Saturday mornings commencing 31st March at 9.50am in Belclare.
Under 7 / 8 training continues on Saturdays at 10.00 am in Belclare.
Under 6 coaching takes place on Saturdays from 10.00 to 11.00 am also in Belclare.
Gumshields are essential for all players at training and playing in a game.
The club asks that all children be registered prior to the start of the season for insurance purposes. Cost is €40 per child. Underage registration forms can be downloaded from the Corofin GAA website and returned to a club officer or register online on the Club website. Training will continue each Saturday morning unless otherwise notified. We are looking forward to another fun season ahead, with everyone still on a high following the great win for our senior team on St Patrick's Day.

Club Notes 19 March


We achieved the pinnacle of success for Corofin GAA Club on Saturday, St. Patrick’s Day, in winning the All-Ireland Club Final, defeating Nemo Rangers of Cork by 2-19 to 0-10. This was a magnificent team performance with our boys playing a wonderful brand of football from start to finish. Congratulations to all involved in this great victory to capture the Club’s third All-Ireland title. We thank our amazing supporters who travelled to Croke Park in huge numbers and braved the bitter cold to witness this victory. We wish to acknowledge all the well-wishers who lined the route of the homecoming cavalcade and accorded such a wonderful reception to the team. Thanks to everyone, including neighbouring parishes, who lit bonfires on the route home and on the tour of the parish and all those clubs and organisations who have sent us good wishes.

We defeated Monivea-Abbey by 4-8 to 0-11 in the Minor A Football League, North, played in Corofin on Friday evening.

Galway footballers drew with Dublin in the league on Sunday in Pearse Stadium. They play Kildare next weekend prior to playing Dublin in the league Final.

Club Notes 12 March


The countdown to the All-Ireland Club Final is almost over. We take on Nemo Rangers of Cork at 2.00 pm in Croke Park on Saturday (St Patrick’s Day). Everyone in the parish sends their best wishes to the players and the management team as they put their final preparations in place for the final. We have no doubt that all the hard work, dedication and commitment displayed by the entire panel will ensure that we bring the Andy Merrigan Cup to our parish for the third time.
We wish a safe journey to our many supporters travelling to the game.

Many thanks to all who supported our fundraising drive over the last few weeks. A special thanks goes to the ticket sellers who braved inclement weather while calling to homes. We also thank our many sponsors whose support will be acknowledged at a later date.

Our “Night at the Dogs” in Galway Greyhound Stadium on Saturday evening proved to be a great success. Thanks to our race sponsors, our advertisers, our dedicated ticket sellers and especially the people of the parish and beyond who supported us.
The first prize of €1000 went to Teresa and Mary Creaven, Belclare with the winning ticket sold by Joe Leonard & Pat Creaven. The weekend in Johnstown House in Kildare was won by Ger Cunningham, Corofin and the ticket seller was Pat Cunningham. We had five prizes of €100 each which went to Dara and Christy Fleming, Woodquay, Sylane sold by Jimmy Sice & Mattie Keane; Deirdre Ní Mhaolain, Castlegrounds, Corofin sold by Ciaran Lynch & Shane McLoughlin; Paul Higgins, Claretuam sold by Frank McGrath; Mary Ann Fergus, Anbally sold by Ralph Lawless; Noel Tighe and Tony O'Geary c/o the Front Room Pub, Tuam sold by Aidan Cummins of the Front Room. Congratulations to all.

The winners of our Progressive 25 Card Drive, held in Belclare Community Centre on Sunday evening, were Oliver Farrell and TJ Comer. A special thanks to Tommy O’Brien and all involved in the organising of this event.

The fifth GAA National Club Draw took place in Páirc an Chrócaigh on the 8th of March. There were only two Galway winners:-
Shopping Voucher €1000 at a retailer of your choice for Vivian Diviney – Beagh GAA, Galway.
Blue Book Voucher €500 for Pat Collins – Clarinbridge GAA, Galway.
In the Draw for all Clubs who sell, record and account for a minimum of 200 tickets, the Galway winner was Renvyle.
For the Highest sellers in each Province a prize of €1,000 went to Dromahair, Leitrim who sold 1201 tickets. Corofin sold 908. Once again thanks to all who supported our draw.

We lost out to Northern Gaels (Glinsk, Glenamaddy & Williamstown) by 0-9 to 1-16 in the Minor A Football League, North, played in Glenamaddy, on Saturday.

Galway footballers defeated Monaghan in the league on Sunday in Pearse Stadium by 0-17 to 1-10 and have now qualified for the league final with two games remaining. They play Dublin on Sunday again in Pearse Stadium.

The Club offers its sympathy to the family and friends of Mary McInerney, Claretuam Belclare and Jarlath Conneely, Tulrush Belclare who died recently. May they rest in peace.

Club Notes 5 March


The All-Ireland Final against Nemo Rangers has been confirmed for 2.00 pm in Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day.
Croke Park tickets will be on sale in Corofin pitch between 6.30 and 8.30pm this Thursday evening, 8 March.
Tickets sellers are visiting houses around the parish selling tickets at €20 for our “Night at the Dogs” in Galway Greyhound Stadium on Saturday evening commencing at 7.00 pm. The first prize is €1000 and the second prize is a weekend in Johnstown House in Kildare while there are 5 other prizes of €100 each. The draw will take place at the Greyhound Stadium on Saturday night.
We also ask for your support for our Progressive 25 Card drive taking place at 7.00 pm in Belclare Community Centre, on Sunday. The admission price is €10 and further information can be obtained by contacting Tommy O’Brien at (087) 2424850.

Under 6 Coaching Sessions will be starting next Saturday, 10th March, from 10.00 to 11.00 am in Belclare Astro Turf.

Sylane Hurling and Camogie Club are hosting the Annual Jack McHugh Memorial U16 Hurling Tournament in Belclare Community pitches on Saturday 10th March with games commencing at 12:30pm. Teams involved are Castlegar, Carnmore, Sarsfields and Sylane. All support is welcome. Refreshments will be provided on the day. Thanks to all involved.
