The Club was affiliated to the GAA in 1925 and incorporates the two half-parishes of Corofin & Belclare.
The official club colours are Saffron and Green.

Club Notes 30 March

MEN'S NOTES:
Come along to our Fashion Show in the Claregalway Hotel this Thursday 2 April at 8.00 pm and meet Andy Merrigan and Corofin players, All Ireland Club Champions, who will be modeling.
Tickets costing €20 are available in Keane’s and Raftery’s or from Committee members.

Galway footballers got back to winning ways in Hyde Park on Sunday afternoon with a four point win over Roscommon. Liam Silke, Gary Sice and Micheál Lundy all featured for Galway. Galway play Kildare in their final league game next Sunday.

Galway play Roscommon in the Connacht under 21 Championship final at 6.00 pm in Tuam Stadium next Saturday. Best wishes to all involved.

Under 14s play Tuam Stars in the first round of league this Wednesday evening in Corofin starting at 7.00 pm.

Training continues for under 6 to under 10 every Saturday morning at 10.00 in Belclare.

Application forms for the Corofin GAA underage ‘School of Excellence’, which takes place during the Easter Holiday on the 7th and 8th of April from 10am to 2pm at Belclare Pitch, are available to download from the Club website.
All children that register for the School of Excellence must be between 7 and 13 years and must be paid up club members for 2015.
Club membership forms and an information sheet are also available on the website.
Completed application forms, with the exact amount for payment, can be given to coaches on Saturday.
Please note also that if you have paid membership online, a completed club membership form must be returned to any of the under 8 coaches.

There was no winner of our lotto jackpot and no match 3s from the numbers drawn – 25, 28, 29 32. The seller's prize went to John Joe Forde. Next week’s jackpot is €17,150 with the draw in the Palm Tree.

The club offers its sympathy to the Higgins family on the death of Margaret Higgins (née Rabbitte), Curryoughter, Corofin.

LADIES FOOTBALL:
U6/U8 training continues every Tuesday and Thursday in Belclare from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm. U10s training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Belclare also from 6 to 7. U16s train on Fridays in Belclare 6 to 7pm. All new players are very welcome at each age level.
Congrats to our minor club players who were part of the Galway panel that defeated Sligo in the 2nd round of the Connaught Minor championship.
Congrats also to our senior club players who were part of the Galway panel in their magnificent league match win over Monaghan last Sunday.
Date for your diary – Friday 17th April: Corofin Ladies annual player registration event will be held that evening. Full details will be available shortly.

Club Notes 23 March

MEN'S NOTES:

Congratulations to all involved in the wonderful victory that we achieved in capturing the Club’s second All-Ireland Club title on St. Patrick’s Day. We wish to acknowledge all the well-wishers who lined the route of the homecoming cavalcade and accorded such a wonderful reception to the team. Thanks to everyone, including neighbouring parishes, who lit bonfires on the route home and on the tour of the parish.
The generous support that we received for the team-training fund is acknowledged elsewhere in this paper.

Come along to the Claregalway Hotel on Thursday 2 April and meet Andy Merrigan and team members at our Fashion Show. There are prizes for best-dressed man and best-dressed woman and many other great prizes. Compére on the night is Marietta Doran. Tickets costing €20 are available in Keane’s and Raftery’s or from Committee members.

Lotto Draw Monday 16 March:- There was no winner of lotto jackpot and 4 match 3s:- Kevin Newell, Holly Glynn, Hillary Shaughnessy and Catherine Helebert. The seller's prize went to Mary Watts. The numbers drawn were 3, 6, 13, 32.

Lotto Draw Monday 23 March:- There was no winner of lotto jackpot and 3 match 3s:-
Tom Mulhall, Olivia Watts and Richard O’Leary. The seller's prize went to John Joe Forde. The numbers drawn were 17, 19, 22, 26. Next week’s jackpot is €17,000 with the draw in Raftery’s.

LADIES FOOTBALL:
U6/U8 training resumes for 2015 in Belclare on Tuesday the 31st March from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm.

U10s training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Belclare also from 6 to 7.

U12s training takes place on Thursday in Belclare from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm.
All new players are very welcome at each age level.

The Senior ladies got the League campaign off to a winning start when they played Annaghdown and won on a scoreline of 3-15 to 1-07. We had 3 new débutantes on the Senior panel, Orla Canney, Hillary O’Toole and Louise Reilly – well done girls.

Many thanks to all sport’s clubs, organisations, communities and many more who wished us well in Croke Park on St. Patrick’s Day.

Club Notes 9 March

MEN'S NOTES:
As St. Patrick’s Day draws closer everybody in the parish sends their best wishes to Michael Farragher (captain), Stephen Rochford (manager), the players and the management team as they put their final preparations in place for the All-Ireland Club Final against Slaughtneil of Derry. The game takes place on St. Patrick’s Day in Croke Park, with throw in at 4.00 pm. We have no doubt that all the hard work, dedication and commitment displayed by the entire panel will ensure that we bring the Andy Merrigan Cup to our parish for the first time since 1998.

Tickets for the game can be purchased in SuperValu, Tuam or on line at www.gaa.ie.

Best wishes to our twelve under 12 players who will be playing at the half time interval at the game. Congratulations also to the five under 8s who will be forming a guard of honour as the senior teams enter the pitch.

Our Funding Race Night proved to be a great success. Thanks to our race sponsors, our advertisers, our dedicated ticket sellers and especially the people of the parish and beyond who supported us. It was great to see all the positivity and goodwill that has been shown to us. A special word of thanks must go to our hard working committee who put in long hours in organising the event. Thanks to our event coordinator, Fintan Forde, and his team of Michael Ryder, Jimmy McHugh, John Raftery, Jimmy Sice, Marguerite Keane, Tom Duggan and John Fahey.

The first winner of €1000 at the Buster Race was Michael Reilly, Sylane whose wining ticket was sold by Jimmy Sice and Mattie Keane. We are inviting everyone to get ready for the All-Ireland Club Final weekend with a Pre-Match Breakfast, on Sunday 15th March, in Raftery's pub from 9.00 to 12.30. Tickets at €10 are available in local shops, or from any GAA committee member. (Children's tickets at €5 are available on the day). Come along for your "Full Irish" to chat about the big game, and what better way to begin Mother's Day!

The Club Shop opens in the Offices near Raftery's Pub on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm and on Sunday from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm.

Under age training for under 6 to 10 takes place every Saturday morning at 10.00 in Belclare. Everyone is welcome, but don't forget your mouth guard. Membership is now due for 2015. Any player who is not registered cannot train, as he is not insured.

The club sends it’s best wishes to Jim Carney on his retirement as Sports’ Editor of the Tuam Herald. We thank him for his support to our Club over many years and we wish him a long, active and happy retirement.
We also wish Billy Coss all the best as he takes over the role of Sports’ Editor.

The CCDA are holding the next in their series of Table Quizzes in the Anbally Inn on Saturday night, commencing at 9.00. Your support is greatly appreciated. The Club sends it’s thanks to the CCDA for changing the date of this event, so as not to clash with our Race Night last Saturday.

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot and six match 3s, John FitzMaurice, Nora Hussey, Tommy O’Brien, Samantha Kilkelly, Michelle Lawless and Jimmy Mullen. The numbers drawn were 5, 19, 21, 24. The seller's prize went to Brian Loughlin. Next week's jackpot is for €16,700 with the draw in the Canavans.

Club Notes 2 March

MEN'S NOTES:

Our fundraising “Night at the Dogs” takes place in the Galway Greyhound Stadium on next Saturday with the first race at 7.50 pm. Tickets costing €20 can still be obtained from committee members. Prizes include €1000 for the holder of the ticket with the winning combination of dogs in the featured race. There will be 5 winners of €100 each in a Lucky Dip Draw on the night. The ticket price includes admission to the Stadium and the Race Card. Many thanks to all our sponsors whose contribution will be acknowledged in a special programme for the night. GoBus are providing transport to the Race Night with a bus leaving Raftery's Pub @ 7.00 pm and returning after last race. Tickets costing €5 return, can be bought on the bus.

We are asking all localities in the parish to show their support for our team as they prepare to contest the Club’s first All-Ireland in 17 years, by displaying flags and banners in their own areas. These can be bought in the local shops. Remember that “every little helps”.
