The Club was affiliated to the GAA in 1925 and incorporates the two half-parishes of Corofin & Belclare.
The official club colours are Saffron and Green.

Club Notes 27 July

MENS NOTES:

Congratulations to the Galway minor footballers who captured the Connacht title with a convincing win over Sligo by 4-12 to 1-8. Well done to Dylan McHugh and Ciarán Brady, who also picked up the ‘man-of-the-match’ award. Galway advance to play Tipperary in the All-Ireland quarter final this weekend.

Best of luck to our Club players and selector Brian Silke and the Galway senior team who take on Donegal in the next round of the qualifiers on Saturday evening at 6.00 pm in Croke Park.

Our seniors play Mountbellew-Moylough in the final of the Connacht GAA Senior Club League (Leo Kenny Cup) in Tuam Stadium at 7.30 pm this Wednesday evening. Corofin defeated Elphin by 3-10 to 0-12 in the semi-final.

Our seniors continued their good run in division 1 of the league with a two-point victory over Annaghdown on Sunday evening by 1-11 to 0-12. The Corofin goal was scored by Mike Farragher.

Our juniors lost out to Caherlistrane in the North Board Championship on Sunday.

Congratulations to our under 16 team who captured the under 16A County league title last Tuesday evening with an exciting win over Claregalway on a scoreline of Corofin 0-10 to Claregalway 1-6. Well done to the team and mentors on this win following a great game of football.

On the hurling front we had an involvement with both the Galway minors and seniors at the weekend. Jack Fitzpatrick, who played underage football with Corofin, was full back on the minor team that defeated Limerick. Daithí Burke continued his good form in the senior’s excellent over Cork.

Monday 27 July: There was no winner of the lotto jackpot – numbers drawn 4, 8, 19, 31.
We had two match 3s - Tony Murphy & Pat Balfe.
The seller's prize went to John Joe Forde. Next week's jackpot is €3,950 with the draw in Rafterys.

The Club offers its sincere sympathy to the Fahy family, Kilcurriff, on the sad loss of Joe Fahy, RIP.

LADIES FOOTBALL:
Best wishes to the Corofin Ladies club players Orla Canney, Leanne Coen, Amy Coen, Emily Donnelly and Amy O'Donovan, as well as Team Selector Stephen Hession, who are part of the Galway Ladies U16 team playing Kerry in the All Ireland Final in Bruff, Co Limerick on the evening of Wednesday 29th July, throw in 7pm.

We also want to wish all the best to Corofin Ladies players Chelsey Blade and Dearbhla Gower who play for Galway Ladies Minors in the All Ireland Final versus Cork in Semple Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday 3rd August, throw in 5.30pm.

Galway Ladies are having a brilliant year, already winning a clean sweep of Connacht titles - u14, u16, Minor and Senior - in 2015 so far. They also run all the underage game development training and blitzes in the County, as well as all the competitions Corofin Ladies teams, from u8 to Seniors, play in. To fundraise to keep all this successful ladies football activity going they are holding a Night at the Dogs fundraiser at Galway Greyhound Stadium on Friday 21st August. Tickets are available for €20 each from David Gower. The ticket gives entry on the night and if the ticket number matches the final result of the feature race on the night the ticket holder wins €1000.

Club Notes 20 July
MENS NOTES:

Galway senior footballers had a well merited win over Derry on Saturday and now play Donegal in the next round of the qualifiers, on Saturday 1 August at 6.00 pm in Croke Park.

Following their 2-15 to 1-8 win over An Cheathrú Rua in the Connacht GAA Senior Club League (Leo Kenny Cup) last week, our seniors play Elphin in Orchard Park, Elphin on Tuesday evening.

The replay of the Connacht Minor Football Championship Final versus Sligo takes place in Tuam Stadium this Friday evening at 7.00 pm. Please support the team.

The under 16A County league final in which Corofin play Claregalway takes place on Tuesday in Milltown at 7.45. Come along and support the team.

Our under 14s won the shield final last Friday defeating Ballinasloe by 5-8 to 1-3. Well done to all involved.

In the lotto draw held on Monday 20 July the numbers drawn were 15, 17, 20, 28. There was no winner of the Jackpot 1 match 3 – Marie O'Brien. The seller’s prize went to John Coen. Next week's jackpot is €3,800 with the draw in Gills.

Club Notes 13 July

MENS NOTES:

On Sunday afternoon last seniors defeated Salthill-Knocknacarra by 1-13 to 0-12 in the league.

This Tuesday the junior C team play Kilkerrin-Clonberne at 8.00 pm in Corofin.

On Friday, 17 July our under 14s play the Championship - Div 1 final against Ballinasloe at 6.30 pm in Tuam Stadium.

Also on Friday the junior A team play Headford in Headford at 7.45 pm.

Galway footballers had a deserved win over Armagh in Armagh on Sunday and now play Derry in the next round of the qualifiers on Saturday in Pearse stadium. Best wishes again to all involved.

Our under 16s won the Division 1A league final with a 2-14 to 0-6 victory over Mountbellew / Moylough 0-6. Well done lads.

Well done to the under 14s who won the Division 1 Football Championship semi final defeating Barna by 2-13 to 2-7.

In the lotto draw held on Monday 13 July, there was no winner of the Jackpot or Match 3. Numbers drawn were 6, 9, 14, 22. The seller's prize was won by JohnJoe Forde. Next week's jackpot is €3,650 with draw in Palm Tree.

LADIES FOOTBALL:
Congrats to Galway Ladies who won the Connacht Final on Sunday, defeating old rivals Mayo by 0-21 to 1-17. Well done to our Club players Tracey Leonard, Roisin Leonard, Patricia Gleeson, Aine Seoige, Aoife Newell and Tina Hughes. Roisin Leonard picked up a well-deserved player of the match award.

Club Notes 6 July
MENS NOTES:

Best wishes to Galway footballers and our club players involved in their game versus Armagh to be played in the Athletic Grounds, at 3.00 pm on Sunday 12 July.

Galway minors recorded an impressive win over Mayo by 3-14 to 1-3 in the Connacht semi-final on Saturday. Well done to our club payers, Dylan McHugh at full back and Ciaran Brady, substitute, who both had fine displays in the win. Galway now play Sligo in the Connacht Final in Dr. Hyde Park, Roscommon on 19 July.

Our minors return to action on Friday evening when they play Annaghdown in the Minor A North Football Championship at 8.00 pm in Corofin.

Our juniors lost narrowly to Claregalway in the North Board Football Championship on a scoreline of Corofin 2-9 to Claregalway 4-5.

Our seniors played Kilkerrin-Clonberne in the Connacht GAA Senior Club League (Leo Kenny Cup) in Kilkerrin-Clonberne on Tuesday evening.

The under 16 Division 1A league final between Corofin and Mountbelew/Moylough was also played on Tuesday in Williamstown.

The under 14 team continued their good run of form with a comprehensive win over Oughterard in the Division 1 Football Championship game played last Friday. The semi-final takes place next Friday against Barna in Barna with throw-in at 7.00 pm.

In the lotto draw held on Monday 6 July the numbers drawn were 6, 7, 11, 23.
There was no jackpot winner and one match 3 – Louis, Rory & Padraic c/o Canavans. The seller's prize went to Nora Hussey. The jackpot for next week’s draw to be held in Rafterys is €3,500.
