The Club was affiliated to the GAA in 1925 and incorporates the two half-parishes of Corofin & Belclare.
The official club colours are Saffron and Green.

Club Notes 29 January

CLUB NOTES:

The All-Ireland Club semi-final against Moorefield of Kildare has been fixed for 2.00 pm in O'Connor Park, Tullamore on Saturday 17 February.

Senior team players have Croke Park Draw tickets for sale. Please support them by purchasing these tickets that carry some great prizes.

Well done to Galway seniors who had a great win in the opening round of the Allianz National League, defeating Tyrone by 1-9 to 0-8 in Tuam on Sunday. Galway next play Donegal in Letterkenny at 2.30 pm on Sunday.

The Club offers its sympathy to the families and friends of the following who died recently: Delia Hunt, Brickens; mother of Nuala Coen, Gortbeg; Ann Fitzgerald, Waterford; sister of Mary Fahy, Annaghill; Tom Carroll, Glencarr, Leitrim, brother of Martin Carroll, Rusheens. May they rest in peace.

There was no winner of lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 19, 25, 29, 30. We had no match 3s. Seller’s prize Patricia Langan. Next week’s Jackpot is €2,900 and draw in Club office.

Club Notes 22 January

CLUB NOTES:

Well done to our seniors who completed the job in Ruislip this time with a 3-8 to 1-4 victory over London champions Fulham Irish in the All-Ireland Club SFC Quarter-final in McGovern Park on Sunday. ‪Despite the early concession of a goal, we went in at half time leading by 3-3 to 1-3 with goals from Liam Silke (penalty), Colin Brady and Ian Burke. The team deserves tremendous credit for this win in a game played in difficult conditions. Sincere thanks, once again, to our loyal supporters who travelled over to the game. We now take in Moorefield of Kildare in the semi-final on Saturday 17 February. The venue for this game is yet to be decided. ‬

The Galway Sports Star awards for football will be presented at a banquet in the Galway Bay Hotel on Saturday night.

Hard luck to Sylane lost out to St Mogue's, Wexford by 0-18 to 0-9 in the All-Ireland Junior Hurling Club Championship Semi-Final played on Saturday. We wish them luck as they compete in the County Intermediate Championship this year.

The Club’s underage AGM will take place this Sunday evening at 7.00 pm in St Colman’s Room, Corofin. All are welcome.

There was no winner of lotto jackpot and no match 3. The numbers drawn were 6, 14, 28, 31. Seller’s prize went to Patricia Langan. Next week’s jackpot is €2,750 and draw is in Club office.

Club Notes 15 January

CLUB NOTES:

We once again send best wishes and safe travel to our senior team as they take on London champions Fulham Irish in the All-Ireland Club SFC Quarter-final in McGovern Park, Ruislip at 1.00 pm on Sunday next. We also wish our supporters travelling over a safe journey. Hopefully the weather will be kinder to us this time.

The Club sends its congratulations to Kieran Fitzgerald who won a Medtronic sponsored Galway Sports Star award for football. The awards will be presented at a banquet in the Galway Bay Hotel on Saturday night January 27th.

Club Notes 8 January

CLUB NOTES:

Our game against Fulham Irish in the All-Ireland Senior Club Championship quarter final is confirmed for Sunday 21 January at 1.00 pm in McGovern Park, Ruislip.

The Club sends its very best wishes to Gary Sice who has announced his retirement from intercounty football. Gary has made 92 appearances for Galway, between league & championship, since making his senior debut in 2006. We look forward to Gary’s continuing involvement with the Club.

Our minors lost out to Claregalway in the Minor A Football League (North) final played in Headford on Saturday. The full time score was Corofin 0-7 to Claregalway 0-9. The Corofin scorers were Darragh Silke 3, Matthew Cooley 2, Gavin Burke 1 and Tony Gill 1. Corofin, playing with the wind in the first half, led by 5 points to 2 at the break. However they were unable to maintain the lead, as Claregalway mounted a spirited comeback to win out by 2 points. Hard luck to the lads in what was a great game for the time of year. ‬

The Club social has been postponed until further notice. This is due mainly to the fact the London fixture is on the following weekend (21 January).
The Croke Park Draw tickets are still available from committee and players.
Remember also that Club membership is now due. Details are on the Club web site.

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot in the draw held on 2 January. The numbers drawn were 2, 7, 14, 31. We had no match 3. The seller’s prize went to John Coen.

Club Notes 2 January

CLUB NOTES:

In the lotto draw held in Canavan’s, Belclare on Wednesday 27 December the numbers drawn were 5, 19, 22, 26. There was no winner of the jackpot and two match 3s, Michael Collins and Donal Keane. The seller’s prize went to Patricia Langan. Next week’s jackpot is €2,150 and the draw is being in the Club office on Tuesday 2 January.
