The Club was affiliated to the GAA in 1925 and incorporates the two half-parishes of Corofin & Belclare.
The official club colours are Saffron and Green.

Club Notes 26 February

CLUB NOTES:

The All-Ireland Final against Nemo Rangers has been fixed for 2.00 pm on St Patrick’s Day. In preparation for the Final we are having a Night at the Dogs in Galway Greyhound Stadium on Saturday 10 March. Tickets, costing €20, will be available from collectors who will call door to door from this week. There is a first prize of €1000, with a chance to win other great prizes for all those who purchase a ticket.
We would also ask all our supporters to display flags and banners around the parish, as we get ready for another big day in Croke Park.
Progressive 25 Card drive in aid of Corofin GAA training fund, Sunday March 11 at 7.00 pm in Belclare Community Centre. Admission €10. For info contact Tommy O’Brien (087) 2424850.

The 2018 Galway Senior Football Championship Draw was held last week. There is a new format for the championship this year. We are in Group 1 with Claregalway, St. James', Cortoon Shamrocks and An Cheathrú Rua. The top two teams in the group will qualify for the quarter finals. We will play our first game in the group against Claregalway on the weekend of 19th/20th May.

Our under 20s lost narrowly to Caherlistrane by 1-11 to 0-15 in the first round of the North Board Championship played in Caherlistrane on Saturday. Ross Mahon scored the Corofin goal. Hard luck lads.

The Galway senior footballers had an excellent win over Kerry in Austin Stack Park, Tralee in the fourth round of the League on Sunday. Galway play Monaghan in Pearse Stadium next Sunday, with throw in at 12.30 pm. This game is followed by the clash of Galway and Limerick in the National Hurling League (division 1B) at 2.30 pm.

Well done to Medtronic senior footballers who defeated Liebherr from Killarney on Friday evening in Loughgeorge. The Medtronic team featured a number of Corofin players.

The Club offers its sympathy to the family and friends of Marie Murphy, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan, mother of Bronagh Hession, Ballinastack. May she rest in peace.

LADIES FOOTBALL
We are issuing an urgent appeal for volunteers, as we have many young players wanting to play u14 and u16 football but not enough adults to run these teams. Everybody can help, but the first step is to volunteer to help our Ladies Club. If you would like to know what is involved please contact any of the Club executive or send us a message on Facebook.

Club Notes 19 February

CLUB NOTES:

Congratulations to our senior team on their hard fought victory over Moorefield in the All-Ireland Club semi-final in Tullamore on Saturday. We finished up winners on a scoreline of 1-6 to 0-6 with the all-important goal coming from Liam Silke in the dying minutes of the game. Thanks to all for the great support given to the team at the game and to all who sent us messages of encouragement. It is very much appreciated.
The second semi-final, between Slaughtneil and Nemo Rangers, takes place in Portlaoise on Saturday at 4.30 pm. We will take on the winners of this game in the All-Ireland final in Croke Park on St. Patrick’s Day.
We wish the team and mentors best of luck with their preparations over the next few weeks and we ask for your on-going support for the Club as we prepare for this great occasion.

We play Caherlistrane in the Under 20 North Board Championship at 2.30 pm in Caherlistrane on Saturday.

CLUB NOTES:

We wish the best of luck to our senior team and their mentors in the All-Ireland Club semi-final against Moorefield of Kildare taking place at 2.00 pm in O'Connor Park, Tullamore on Saturday. We ask all followers to show support for the team by displaying their flags and banners. Safe travelling to all attending the match.

Thanks to all who joined us and contributed to the Galway Bay FM Club Focus programme on the lead up to the All-Ireland Club semi-final which was broadcast on Monday night from Raftery’s Bar.

The Galway senior footballers maintained their excellent run in the League with a 5-point win over Mayo in Pearse Stadium on Sunday.

The Club offers its sympathy to the families and friends of the following who died recently: Martha Keaveney, USA and formerly Clough, sister of Frankie Keaveney; Michael Ryan, Doncaster and formerly Ardskeabeg; Mary Cunningham (née Heneghan)

Club Notes 5 February

CLUB NOTES:

The All-Ireland Club semi-final against Moorefield of Kildare takes place at 2.00 pm in O'Connor Park, Tullamore on Saturday 17 February. We send best wishes to the team as they prepare for this game in difficult weather and playing surface conditions. We ask all followers to show support for the team by displaying their flags and banners.

Senior team players have Croke Park Draw tickets for sale. Please support them by purchasing these tickets that carry some great prizes. All sold and unsold tickets MUST be returned to John Raftery by this Wednesday at the latest.

The Galway senior footballers continued their good start to the Allianz National League with a 1-point win over Donegal. The game was played in Letterkenny on Sunday. They play Mayo in Pearse Stadium at 2.00 pm this Sunday.

Corofin GAA Underage registration will be held on Saturday morning, 10 February, from 10.00 am to 11.00 am in Belclare pitch for all players from under 6 to under 16.
Underage membership forms can be downloaded from the Club website www.corofingaa.ie.
On the same morning there will be a “Train the Trainers” coaching seminar for our underage coaches. This will also take place in Belclare Pitch from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm.

U12 football training resumed on Monday evening at 6pm on the Astro Turf in Belclare. The U11's (2007 group) will return to training on Tuesday 13 February at 7.00 pm, also on the Astro Turf.
