The Club was affiliated to the GAA in 1925 and incorporates the two half-parishes of Corofin & Belclare.
The official club colours are Saffron and Green.

Club Notes 29 February

MEN'S NOTES:

Our minors lost out to Mountbellew-Moylough by 3-13 to 0-6 in the 2015 minor league final played in Mountbellew on Saturday.

Galway had a very good away win over Derry in the league on Sunday on a scoreline of 1-18 to 2-12. Next up for Galway is a game against Meath in Pearse Stadium next Sunday.

Our under 21s have been drawn to play Tuam Stars in the North Board Championship, A semi-final. Date and venue have yet to be confirmed.

Best wishes to our club players who play in the Inter Firms All-Ireland football final with Medtronic against Liebherr, Killarney. The game is scheduled for Tuam Stadium on Saturday.

Many thanks to all who attended the underage registration for 2016, which was held last Friday evening. Thanks to club players and coaches who helped on the evening.

Our under 13 A team play Dunmore MacHales in Dunmore in the league at 11.00 am on Sunday morning.
Also on Sunday morning our under 13 B team play Athenry in the league in Athenry at 11.00 am.

Underage “train the trainers” session will take place this Sunday in Velocity Fitness in Tuam at 1.30 pm. Mike Comer and Shane Fitzgibbon will be the course instructors.
Shane is a highly qualified Youth Fitness Specialist and is also Ireland and International Youth Coach of the Year 2015.

The Club sends it’s best wishes to Deputy Seán Canney and congratulates him on his election to the 32nd Dáil.

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot and no match 3. The numbers drawn were 13, 17, 18, 26. Seller’s prize went to PJ Reilly. Next week's draw for a jackpot of €8,600 is in the Club Office.

Club Notes 22 February

MEN'S NOTES:

Our under 21s defeated Ballinasloe in the quarter final of the U21 A North Football Championship played in Ballinasloe on Sunday. Corofin led by 1-10 to 0-2 at half time have played with a strong wind, with the goal coming from Patrick Madden. Ballinasloe started well in the second half with an early goal. However a goal from Kieran Molloy in the closing stages of the game sealed a well merited win for Corofin on a final score of
2-12 to 1-2. Well done to the team and all involved

Well done to all those who completed the Club's AED/CPR training programme recently. Thanks to trainers Tony Daley and Brian Murphy.

Despite loosing the Sigerson semi final to eventual winners, UCD, Ian Burke scored the only goal for University of Limerick in the 54th minute with a low left-footed finish.

The presentation night for our underage players was held last Friday evening in the Árd Rí Hotel, Tuam. Over 120 county medals were presented during the course of the evening, by special guests, senior players Dylan Wall, Conor Cunningham, Ciaran McGrath and Kieran Fitzgerald to our two U12 teams, Under 13, 14 and 16 teams. An enjoyable evening to mark a very successful 2015 for our Underage was had by all.

Underage registration for 2016 will be held this Friday evening, 26th in Corofin Pitch, from 6.30pm - 8pm. Children please come togged as there will be training on the pitch with coaches and senior players. Cost this year is €30 for U6's and €40 for U8's to U 16's. Registration forms are available to download from www.corofingaa.ie.

Club Notes 15 February

MEN'S NOTES:

The draws for the 2016 Senior and Intermediate Football Championship took place last week. In the Senior Championship Corofin play Carna Caiseal and in the Intermediate Championship we play Dunmore MacHales.

Corofin underage medal presentation evening for 2015 will take place this Friday evening, at 6.30 pm in the Árd Rí hotel. County Medals will be presented to our U16, U15, U14 and U12 teams. We would like to invite all players and their parents to attend.

Our under 13 A team play Annaghdown in Cregg in the league at 11.00 am on Sunday morning.
Also on Sunday morning our under 13 B team play Claregalway in the league in Belclare at 11.00 am.

The Club offers its sincere sympathy to the families and friends of the late Pauline Forde, Ballinastack, Sonny Glenane, Currandrum and Patrick Guilfoyle, London & Balladotia, Belclare. May they rest in peace.

Club Notes 8 February

MENS NOTES:

Galway footballers put in a good performance in round 2 of the league in Pearse Stadium on Sunday, but lost out to Tyrone, who were deserving 1-11 to 1-9 winners.

The draws for the 2016 Senior and Intermediate Football Championship took place on Tuesday night in the Raidió na Gaeltachta studio in Casla. Full details on Club website.

Round 1 of the senior league (Division 1) will commence on either Saturday 2 April or 9 April. We are due to play St James’ in our first game. Our intermediates are scheduled to be in action the same weekends in the league (Division 3) against Oileáin Árainn.

There are still a few places on the AED & CPR training which is taking place on Saturday, from 9.00 am for team mentors. To register for the training and for further details please contact the Club’s health and wellbeing officer, Ciarán Lynch at 087 9481683.

The Club offers its sincere sympathy to the Rose O’Boyle and family, Curry on the death of Rose’s mother, Mary Feeney, RIP, Galway city.

Club Notes 1 February

MENS NOTES:

Galway footballers had an excellent win over Laois in their first game in the Allianz League, in Portlaoise on Sunday, winning by 3-12 to 1-10. Galway’s next game is against Tyrone in Pearse Stadium on Sunday at 2.00 pm.

Congratulations to Cathal Reilly who played at full back on the Mountbellew Agricultural College team who captured the Agricultural / Horticultural Colleges All Ireland Football Final last Tuesday in Moyne, Templetuohy, Co Tipperary. Mountbellew defeated Kildalton College Kilkenny on a scoreline of Mountbellew 5-7 to Kildalton College 1-15.

Best wishes to Abbeyknockmoy hurlers who play Bennetsbridge of Kilkenny in the All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Final next Sunday in Croke Park, with throw in at 3.45 pm.
