The Club was affiliated to the GAA in 1925 and incorporates the two half-parishes of Corofin & Belclare.
The official club colours are Saffron and Green.

Club Notes 27 December

CLUB NOTES:
As 2018 has drawn to a close and we look forward to 2019, the Club would like to most sincerely thank the managers and mentors at all levels in the club from under six up to senior. Their work has ensured that our players have been given the best possible opportunity to develop their skills and enjoy the game of football. We also want to extend a special ‘thank you’ to all who supported us in any way throughout the year. Thanks also to all who worked in the background on the executive and other committees and especially our dedicated players who continue to bring honour to our club and parish.

The club would like to wish all our members, supporters, friends, and followers everywhere a Happy, Joyful and Prosperous New Year – Le gach dea ghuí i gcóir na hAth bliana.

The Annual General Meeting of Corofin GAA Club was held in Belclare Community Hall on Friday 21 December. Sincere thanks to all who attended. All outgoing officers were returned unopposed.

In the lotto draw held on Sunday 23 December, the numbers drawn were 3, 10, 24, 26. Jackpot was not won and two match 3s, Mervyn Grimes and John Nolan. The seller’s prize went to Patricia Langan. The jackpot draw for €9,950 was held in the Club Office on Sunday 30 December.

AGM
The Annual General Meeting of Corofin GAA Club will be held in Belclare Community Hall on Friday at 8.00 pm sharp. We urge all members to attend. Full details of the AGM are available on the Club website.

GALA CELEBRATION
Come join us on Saturday 29 December at The Clayton Hotel to celebrate the tremendous achievements of 2018 and more, in what was an outstanding year in the history of our Club.

Tickets are now on sale and selling fast at €50 per person and include a four course dinner. We have a fantastic entertainment line-up with a welcome by Corofin Scór Group, comedian & impressionist Shane Cunningham, special guests, medal presentations and dancing to The Lewd Tunes, followed by DJ Paddy Healy to finish the night on a high! Galway Bay FM's Ollie Turner will oversee and MC the proceedings with his usual blend of wit and humour. Tickets are limited so get yours before they sell out.

ALL-IRELAND SEMI FINAL
The AIB All-Ireland Club SFC semi-finals will both take place on Saturday, February 16, with Corofin playing Gaoth Dobhair in Carrick-on-Shannon at 1.30pm and Mullinalaghta playing Dr. Crokes in Semple Stadium at 3.30pm.

CONGRATS
Congrats to the Corofin players Ciaran Whiteside, Mathew McCafferkey, Adam O’Grady, Robbie Winston, Oisín Glynn, Finn McIntyre, Eoin Brady and Evan Mortimer who were part of the winning St Jarlath’s Juvenile Team that won the Connacht League title in Tuam Stadium on Thursday defeating Presentation College, Athenry.

LOTTO
The lotto numbers drawn were 4, 7, 14, 28. Jackpot was not won and there were four match 3s, Anne Cullinane, Maureen Farrell, Caroline Connaughton and Martin Gormally. The seller’s prize went to Patricia Langan. Next week's jackpot is €9,800 and the draw is in the Club Office on Sunday 23 December.

DREAM TEAM:
Congratulations to our Club players named on the Claregalway Hotel Galway Gaelic Football Senior Dream Team for 2018. The players received their awards at a gala function in the Hotel on Friday night. Those receiving awards were Bernard Power, Liam Silke, Kieran Molloy, Dylan Wall, Ronan Steede and Gary Sice. A special congratulations to Gary who was also named as the Galway GAA footballer of the year 2018.

DIVISION 4:
We lost to Dunmore MacHales by 0-9 to 0-11 in the division 4 league final played Saturday in Tuam Stadium. ‬
Hard luck lads.‬

Club Notes 3 December

CLUB NOTES:

SENIORS:

We were defeated in our final league division 1 game against Annaghdown, played in Cregg on Saturday. The score was Corofin 0-8 to Annaghdown 1-10. Annaghdown will now play the league final against Mountbellew.

Following Gaoth Dobhair’s (Co Donegal) 0-13 to 0-12 win over Scotstown on Sunday in the AIB GAA Ulster Football Senior Club Champions, ‪Corofin will now play Gaoth Dobhair in the All-Ireland semi-final on 16 February. Details have yet to be confirmed.‬‬‬

We congratulate Liam and Darragh Silke who were both awarded GAA Scholarships to UCD at an event in the UCD Student Centre recently.

LEAGUE DIV 4 FINAL:

We will play Dunmore MacHales in the division 4 league final at 2.00 pm on Saturday in Tuam Stadium.

UNDER 6:

Corofin GAA future is secure if this year’s Under 6’s are anything to judge by. They are a brilliant bunch of kids. Many thanks to Ciarán Brady, Ronan Steede and Alan Burke for presenting the end of season medals. Big thanks also to all the coaches and parents for support over the season.
