The Club was affiliated to the GAA in 1925 and incorporates the two half-parishes of Corofin & Belclare.
The official club colours are Saffron and Green.

Club Notes 28 December

CLUB NOTES:
As the year draws to a close, the club would like to most sincerely thank the managers and mentors at all levels in the club from under six up to senior. Their work has ensured that our players have been given the best possible opportunity to develop their skills and enjoy the game of football. We also want to extend a special ‘thank you’ to all who supported us in any way throughout the year. Thanks also to all who worked in the background on the executive and other committees and especially our dedicated players who continue to bring honour to our club and parish.
The club would like to wish all our members, supporters, friends, and followers everywhere a Happy and Peaceful Christmas and we hope everybody has a Joyful and Prosperous New Year – Le gach dea ghuí i gcóir na Nollag agus na hAth bliana.

You could win in 2017 with Corofin GAA Club. Please support the Club’s fundraising efforts. Tickets for the GAA National Club Draw costing €10 are available from any member of the committee. You can join our weekly Lotto draw by purchasing tickets in local shops and pubs or subscribe on line. Remember also that Club membership is now due.

In the lotto draw held on 28 December the numbers drawn were:- 5, 8, 25, 26. We had no winners. Seller’s prize went to Brian Loughlin. Next week’s jackpot is €4,550 with the draw in the Club Office.

CLUB NOTES:

The Club sends its best wishes to Kilbeacanty's Pat Kearney who was elected as the new Galway County Board Chairman. The current Hurling Committee Secretary takes over from Noel Treacy who held the position for the past five years.

Lotto numbers drawn were 2, 16, 20, 27. We had no winners. Seller’s prize went to Brian Loughlin. Next week’s jackpot is €4,400 and draw on Wednesday 28th December in Club office.

LADIES FOOTBALL
Congratulations to Corofin minor ladies who captured the Connacht Minor Final on Saturday defeating Glencar-Manorhamilton (Leitrim) by 6-16 to 3-05. Well done to team captain, Rachel Cummins, player of the match, Amy O’Donovan, all the players and the team management. Amy, daughter of team manager Brian, celebrated her 17th birthday on Saturday scoring 2-11 (17 points) in the game.

CLUB NOTES:

Many thanks to all who attended the Club’s AGM in Belclare Hall on Sunday. Details of officers elected are now on the Club website.

It was agreed that the membership rates would remain the same as for 2016. Details of membership for 2017 are also on the Club website.

GAA National Club Draw tickets are still on sale and are available from senior team members and from any of the committee. The tickets cost €10 and would make an ideal Christmas present for a family member or a friend.

Congratulations to 16 year old Corofin jockey Rossa Ryan who rode his first winner as a professional jockey in Dundalk on Friday night. Rossa has played underage football with the Club.

The club offers its sympathy to the family and friends of Mary Kate Steede, Ballaghbawn, Belclare. May she rest in peace.

Lotto Numbers drawn were 3, 8, 10, 19. We had no winners. Seller’s prize went to Julie Comer. Next week’s jackpot is €4,250 and draw is in the Club office.

LADIES FOOTBALL:

Corofin minor ladies are playing in the Connacht Minor Final on Saturday next versus Glencar-Manorhamilton. The throw in will be at 1pm, venue to be confirmed, probably a venue in Mayo. All Corofin supporters would be very welcome. Full details will be published as soon as they become available.
The girls had a single point win over Clann na nGael 3-11 to 2-13 in the semi final in Mountbellew last Saturday. Amy O'Donovan and Leanne Coen (2) were our goalscorers. Rachel Burke scored the crucial winning point. It was another never say die performance from this team.

Club Notes 5 December

CLUB NOTES:
The senior team defeated Tuam Stars by 0-11 to 0-9 in a keenly contested league division 1 final played in Tuam Stadium on Sunday. The win brought a great year to an end, adding a three-in-a-row league title to the Galway and Connacht championship victories. Tremendous credit is due to the team and mentors for their work throughout the year. Well done to all.

Tickets, costing cost €10, are available from senior team members and from any of the committee. Your purchase will help the Club’s fundraising efforts and the senior team’s on-going campaign.

The Club AGM takes place in Belclare Hall on Sunday at 6.30pm sharp.
Motions or nominations for any committee position or team mentor must be received by the club secretary, Jimmy McHugh, by 5.30 pm this Wednesday evening. Nomination papers are available from the secretary or can be downloaded from the Club website.

The Club sends its congratulations to Annaghdown Ladies Gaelic Football Team on winning the All-Ireland Club Intermediate Championship on Sunday.

Lotto numbers drawn were 7, 8, 26, 27. No jackpot winner and one match 3 – Áine Newell. Seller’s prize Pat Curley. Next week’s jackpot is €4,100 and draw takes place in Canavans.
