The Club was affiliated to the GAA in 1925 and incorporates the two half-parishes of Corofin & Belclare.
The official club colours are Saffron and Green.

CLUB NOTES:

The Corofin panel and mentors had a very successful trip to New York at the weekend. We played New York GAA County Senior team in Gaelic Park on Thursday evening. The final score was Corofin 1-7 to New York 1-20. Oisín Mannion scored the Corofin goal, while the New York goal was scored by Luke Kelly (Offaly). Jamie Clarke (Armagh) picked up the man of the match award. We thank New York for the competitive game, well done to them on their win and thanks for the invitation over to play them.
On Friday, team members, along with mentors, were invited to meet the President‬, Michael D Higgins, at the Consulate General of Ireland on Park Avenue.
We thank everyone involved in the trip especially the organising committee. We especially thank the many Irish and Galwegians who supported us while over there.

Our second junior team defeated Milltown by 4-10 to 2-12 in the league division 5 (North) in Corofin on Sunday.
Our junior C team lost to Claregalway by 1-13 to 3-10 in the league division 8A (North) played in Corofin on Saturday.

The under 16s were defeated Caherlistrane on a scoreline of 2-6 to 1-11 in the division 1 (North) league played in Caherlistrane last Tuesday.

We played Annaghdown in Cregg on Tuesday evening in the under 15 division 1 (North) league.

The Club offers its sympathy to the families and friends of the following who died recently: Ita Kelly (née Turner), Cloonmoyle, Tuam; Tommy Varden, Kilcloghan’s, Tuam; Mary Dillon, Lecarrow, Roscommon, mother of Lily Glynn, Kilcurriff; Tony Whelan, Polnahalla, Belclare; Tom Higgins, Cloonaghmore, Belclare who has died in Manchester. May they rest in peace.

Club Notes 23 April

CLUB NOTES:

We once again congratulate the six Club players who were recipients of the AIB GAA Club Team of the Year Awards at Croke Park on Saturday night, namely Liam Silke, Kieran Fitzgerald, Dylan Wall, Mike Farragher, Ian Burke and Martin Farragher. We also congratulate Liam Silke who was named as the AIB GAA Club Footballer of the year. The awards were present by Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, John Horan and Denis O'Callaghan, Head of AIB Retail Banking. We thank all those who attended the event and lent their support to the lads on what was a great occasion.

We play New York GAA County Senior team on Thursday evening at 7.45 pm (New York time) in Gaelic Park, New York. There will also be a meet and greet with the players at Jake’s Saloon (23rd Street) on Friday evening. We are having a fundraising raffle with prizes on the night to include: Corofin All-Ireland Jerseys signed by the players, hurleys signed by Joe Canning, a Donegal jersey signed by Michael Murphy and a signed Galway hurling jersey. We wish all those travelling a safe journey.

Our junior C team play Claregalway in the league division 8A (North) at 8.00 pm in Corofin on Friday evening.

Our second junior team play Milltown in the league division 5 (North) at 2.00 pm in Corofin on Sunday.

Our under 16s lost out to St. Gabriel’s played in Corofin last Tuesday. We played Caherlistrane in Caherlistrane last night (Tuesday).

We play Ballinasloe in the under 14 league division 1 (North) in Ballinasloe at 7.00 pm on Friday evening. Our second under 14 team play Barna in the league division 4 in Belclare also at 7.00 pm on Friday evening.

Although we did not qualify for any finals, our Féile players performed very well and both teams should be proud of the contribution they made to the tournament at the weekend. Well done to all involved.

CLUB NOTES:

We have been rewarded, as All-Ireland champions, with six players on the first ever AIB GAA Club Players’ Football Team of the Championship. Liam Silke, Kieran Fitzgerald, Dylan Wall, Michael Farragher, Ian Burke and Martin Farragher have all been awarded a place on the inaugural Football Team of the Championship.
In addition Ian Burke, Michael Farragher and Liam Silke are the AIB GAA Club Player Awards' Footballer of the Year Nominees. The players are being honoured at the AIB GAA Club Player Awards banquet in Croke Park on Saturday night. The Club Player of the Year will be announced live at the event.
Congratulations to all the lads.
Many thanks to Cork City Council who unanimously passed a vote of congratulations to Corofin on winning the All-Ireland Club Football Championship at their meeting on March 26.
We play New York GAA County Senior team on Thursday 26th April at 7.45 pm in Gaelic Park, New York.

Our division 4 team had an excellent win in the league with a one point victory over St. Brendans, Ballygar by 0-15 to 1-11, played in Ballygar on Friday evening. The team recovered well in the second half, haven been down by 9 points at half time.
Well done all.

Hard luck to our juniors, who lost to Ballinasloe by 1-5 to 2-4 in the league, division 5, played in Ballinasloe on Saturday evening.

‪We had a good win in the senior league (division 1) defeating Milltown by 3-8 to 0-13. All three goals were scored in the first half, coming from Liam Silke (penalty), Martin Farragher and Gary Sice. ‬‬‬

We may have games in divisions 1, 4 and 5 at the weekend. The fixtures were not available at the time of going to print.

We had a very good win in the minor A league defeating Kilkerrin/Clonberne/Killererin combined team in Corofin last Wednesday evening.

Our under 12s play Ballinrobe on Thursday. Players are to meet in Ballinrobe at 6.45 pm.

CLUB NOTES:

Our seniors had a good win in their first game in the division 1 league defeating An Cheathrú Rua by 4-15 to 2-10. The game was played in Páirc an Chathánaigh, An Cheathrú Rua, on Saturday evening. Our thanks to CLG An Cheathrú Rua for the hospitality which they showed us on our visit.

Our next game in the senior league is against Milltown at 2.00 pm in Corofin on Sunday. As this is our first home game of the new season, we urge our supporters to attend.

We play St Brendan's, Ballygar in Ballygar at 7.00 pm on Friday evening in the division 4 league.

Our juniors play Ballinasloe in division 5 (North) in Ballinasloe at 7.00 pm on Saturday evening.

We defeated Caherlistrane by 1-12 to 1-9 in the minor A league played in Caherlistrane last Wednesday evening. We play Kilkerrin/Clonberne/Killererin combined team in Corofin at 7.00 pm this Wednesday evening.

Our game against Annaghdown in the under 16 league (Division 1 North), scheduled for last Tuesday, was not played. We play St. Gabriel’s on Tuesday 17 April at 7.00 pm in Corofin.

Thanks to all involved in the Easter Skills Camp, which was reduced to two days due to the inclement weather.

CLUB NOTES:

Our seniors return to action when they play their first game in the division 1 league against An Cheathrú Rua, in Páirc an Chathánaigh, An Cheathrú Rua, at 6.00 pm on Saturday evening. We ask our supporters to come along and support the All-Ireland Champions at the game.

Our juniors lost out to Annaghdown in division 5 (North) by 3-5 to 2-13 played in Corofin on Friday evening.
We defeated Clifden in a division 4 league game by 3-17 to 1-6 in Corofin on Saturday evening.

Galway footballers were defeated by Dublin in the league final on Sunday in Croke Park.

Athenry conceded the game to us in the minor A league. We play Caherlistrane at 6.45 pm in Caherlistrane on this Wednesday evening.

We played Annaghdown in the under 16 league (Division 1 North) in Cregg on Tuesday.

We had a good win in the under 14 league (division 1 North), defeating Caherlistrane by 4-14 to 5-8 last week. Our second under14 team lost out to Salthill-Knocknacarra in division 4, also played last week.

We play Mountbellew/Moylough in under 14 division 1 (North) at 7.00 pm on Friday evening in Mountbellew. Our second under 14 team play Claregalway B Team in Knockdoemore also at 7.00 pm on Friday evening.

U12 training continues on Saturday at 9.50 am in Belclare.

Sylane hurlers play their inaugural game in the intermediate hurling championship v Oranmore-Maree on Sunday next in Pearse Stadium at 12.30 pm. Best of luck to all involved.
